Brothers' Ministries in the New Zealand Province


Throughout the Province, Brothers are involved in a number of ministries. A selection of these includes:

Ad Gentes - Brothers world wide sharing their skills in assigned tasks in Provinces other than their own.

Administration - roles involving the governance and management of the Province.

Alternative Education - a focus on students who have been excluded from mainstream education or who have special needs.

Appointees to School Boards of Trustees - involved in the governance of diocesan and Marist owned schools.

Chaplaincy - Colleges, Hospitals and Prisons

Company Directors - serving on Marist Colleges and Hostel Companies

Diocesan and National Ministries - in educational, social, teacher training, governance and advanced religious and catechetical learning.

Health - of students and elderly Brothers.

Hostel - care and supervision of boarding students. 

Lay Partnership - sharing the Champagnat Charism amongst interested lay people.

Maori and South Pacific apostolates - in New Zealand, Fiji, Kiribati and Samoa.

Religious and professional formation - in National and Diocesan Catholic administration, tertiary institutes and Marist formation.

REMAR - youth groups for college students.

Schools - teaching and ancillary support.

Vocations - promotion and in formation

Young Adult Ministry - encouraging post school
young people while at tertiary study or through their early work.
